How to choose correct ramp for yourself

Step 1: Do you have a manual or powered wheelchair? Please refer to the table above on what gradients are recommended for the relevant products. Example: A 15cm high step will mean you need a 1,5cm ramp when using a manual wheelchair.

Step 2: Measure the total height vertically from the top of the step to the ground. This will help you to determine what length you may reqire.

Step 3. Determine what width you may require, from single ramps 66cm,76,cm and 90cm wide or  twin tracks at 30 cm width each.

Step 4: Print or download pricelist which will give you the lengths and widths as well as prices.

Important Ramp length calculations

While Health & Safety guidelines recommend a gradient of 1:12 for general access and unassisted manual wheelchair users, this is very often impossible or impractical due to space constraints or restrictions.

We have drawn up this length calculator to give you suggested minimum lengths where space restrictions rule out the use of 1:12. Do not use ramps shorter than those suggested. Ramps should be carefully ‘tested’ with assistance when first used to confirm their safety in practice for your particular application. Remember, with Roll-a-Ramp you can add or remove treads to adjust the length (and consequently the gradient) yourself

1:10 ‘Better’ Unassisted or assisted as necessary. 1:7 ‘Better’
